The donation platform is in Australian dollars. According to a rough exchange rate in July 2026, $50 equals €30, $20 equals €12, etc.

Το Penny Marathon είναι μια ΔΩΡΕΑΝ εκδήλωση που πραγματοποιείται την ίδια μέρα σε όλο τον κόσμο.

Που αποσκοπεί το Penny Marathon;
Αυτή η εκδήλωση διοργανώνεται και υποστηρίζεται από εθελοντές με στόχο την ευαισθητοποίηση του κόσμου για τα δεινά των αδέσποτων και ανεπιθύμητων ζώων (συγκεκριμένα ζώα συντροφιάς, όπως γάτες και σκύλους) στην Ελλάδα, αναγνωρίζοντας και βοηθώντας το έργο των εκατοντάδων εθελοντών που μοχθούν για την καλή διαβίωση των ζώων στη χώρα μας.
Πότε θα διεξαχθεί το Penny Marathon;
Penny Marathon 2026 θα διεξαχθεί την Κυριακή 04 Οκτωβρίου.
Πόσο κοστίζει η εγγραφή;
Η εγγραφή είναι δωρεάν.
Είμαστε στην ευχάριστη θέση να σας ανακοινώσουμε ότι φέτος θα συνεργαστούμε και πάλι με το Κέντρο Πολιτισμού Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος (ΚΠΙΣΝ), και η διαδρομή θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο ΚΠΙΣΝ, το οποίο βρίσκεται στην Λεωφόρο Συγγρού 364, στην Καλλιθέα.
Αυτό που μπορείτε να κάνετε, είναι μία δωρεά μέσω του site μας ή να φέρετε μαζί σας μια δωρεά τροφής για σκύλους ή γάτες.
Που θα πραγματοποιηθεί;
Στο Κέντρο Πολιτισμού Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος (ΚΠΙΣΝ). Η εκκίνηση και ο τερματισμός θα γίνουν στο καφέ-εστιατόριο Canal στη βόρεια όχθη του Καναλιού.

Υπάρχουν δύο επιλογές συμμετοχής. Διαβάστε τις οδηγίες παρακάτω.
Θα υπάρχουν σημαίες, και εθελοντές μέσα στο ΚΠΙΣΝ που θα υποδεικνύουν τα σημεία της διαδρομής.
Όλοι οι συμμετέχοντες θα λάβουν ένα βραχιολάκι, στο σημείο της εκκίνησης, με το οποίο θα μπορούν να λάβουν snacks που θα τους προσφέρονται για τον αγώνα (όπως νερό, μπανάνες κλπ). Κάθε τετράποδος συμμετέχοντας, θα λάβει μια μπαντάνα Penny Marathon.
Μπορείτε να λάβετε μέρος στα 10 χλμ. Τρέξιμο, περπάτημα ή ποδήλατο*.
Ώρα συνάντησης: 07.30 π.μ.
Ώρα εκκίνησης: 08:30 π.μ. ΑΥΣΤΗΡΑ
Το σημείο συνάντησης και εκκίνησης για τα 10χλμ. Τρέξιμο, περπάτημα ή ποδήλατο είναι το Canal στο ΚΠΙΣΝ.
*Οι ποδηλάτες θα χρειαστεί να αφήσουν τα ποδήλατά τους σε ασφαλές σημείο εάν θέλουν να συμμετάσχουν στο γύρο του καναλιού, καθώς απαγορεύονται τα ποδήλατα γύρω από το Κανάλι.
2. Μπορείτε να τρέξετε ή να περπατήσετε ένα (1) χιλιόμετρο. Και με τον σκύλο σας!

Ώρα εκκίνησης: 09:30 πμ ΑΥΣΤΗΡΑ
Το σημείο συνάντησης και εκκίνησης για το ένα (1) χλμ τρέξιμο/περπάτημα με τον σκύλο σας είναι το Canal του ΚΠΙΣΝ!
Στη συνέχεια, όπου θα προστεθούν και οι κηδεμόνες με τα σκυλιά τους που θέλουν να συμμετέχουν (πάντα με τη χρήση λουριού), θα κάνουμε ένα (1) γύρο, ενός χιλιομέτρου, περιμετρικά του Καναλιού και θα τερματίσουμε όλοι μαζί στο σημείο εκκίνησης όπου είναι και το σημείο τερματισμού! Στο τερματισμό θα σας περιμένει ένα ελαφρύ γεύμα.
Καθώς ενδέχεται να υπάρξουν μικρές καθυστερήσεις στους παραπάνω χρόνους, θερμή παράκληση για την υπομονή και την ευελιξία σας, εστιάζοντας στο γεγονός πως όλοι τρέχουμε για καλό σκοπό
Ποια θα είναι η διαδρομή;
Η διαδρομή για τα 10 χλμ. τρέξιμο είναι μία (1) στροφή περιμετρικά του καναλιού και τέσσερις (4) στροφές περιμετρικά του ΚΠΙΣΝ στον ποδηλατόδρομο και μία στροφή του ενός χιλιομέτρου περιμετρικά του καναλιού.
Θέλω να λάβω μέρος στα 10χλμ. Μπορώ να φέρω και τον σκύλο μου;
Μπορείτε να φέρετε τον σκύλο σας αρκεί να υπάρχει συνοδός που θα τον κρατήσει κατά τη διάρκεια της διαδρομής των 9χλμ.
Δεν είμαι πολύ γρήγορος, μπορώ να πάρω μέρος;
Φυσικά! Η εκδήλωσή μας αποτελεί γιορτή χωρίς αγωνιστικό χαρακτήρα. Μπορείτε να περπατήσετε τη διαδρομή χωρίς τρέξιμο. Στόχος είναι να ολοκληρώσουμε τη διαδρομή μαζί σαν μια παρέα! Ο μέγιστος χρόνος για την ολοκλήρωση του αγώνα είναι 2 ώρες.
Υπάρχει, επίσης, η διαδρομή του ενός (1) χιλιομέτρου, ιδανική για οικογένειες και όσους προτιμούν να διανύσουν μικρότερη απόσταση με τον σκύλο τους.
Χρειάζεται να δηλώσω ή μπορώ απλά να έρθω στην εκκίνηση;
Ναι, η εγγραφή είναι υποχρεωτική για την καλύτερη οργάνωση της δράσης.

Είναι επίσημος αγώνας;
Όχι, δεν είναι. Δεν υπάρχει κόστος εγγραφής. Ο χρόνος σας δεν θα καταγραφεί και δεν θα πάρετε κάποιο αριθμό. Ωστόσο, παρακαλείσθε να ακολουθείτε πιστά τις οδηγίες των διοργανωτών για την ομαλή διεξαγωγή του αγώνα.
Νερά και τροφοδοσία θα παρέχονται;
Ναι, νερό για όλους και μπανάνες για τους δρομείς. Εάν έχετε κάποια ιδιαίτερη απαίτηση (π.χ. τζελ), θα χρειαστεί να το φέρετε εσείς. Είναι πιθανό ότι κάποιος ποδηλάτης θα μπορέσει να το μεταφέρει για εσάς.
Τι άλλο χρειάζεται να φέρω μαζί μου;
Θα γιορτάσουμε όλοι μαζί στον τερματισμό οπότε μπορεί να χρειαστείτε λίγα χρήματα για να πάρετε κάτι. Αν θέλετε να έχετε επιπλέον ρούχα για να αλλάξετε, ένας εθελοντής οδηγός ίσως να μπορεί να τα μεταφέρει για εσάς.
Οι ποδηλάτες είναι υποχρεωτικό να έχουν βασικό εξοπλισμό για αλλαγή σαμπρέλας σε περίπτωση που σκάσει ένα λάστιχο.
++Συνιστούμε επίσης να έχετε μαζί σας ένα σακίδιο ενυδάτωσης ή μια ζώνη μπουκαλιών για να μεταφέρετε τα δικά σας νερο και να μειώσετε τη χρήση πλαστικών μπουκαλιών και συσκευασιών μιας χρήσης. Αυτό μειώνει τα απόβλητα και βοηθάει τον περιβαλλοντικό μας αντίκτυπο++
Θα υπάρχει χώρος αποθήκευσης ρούχων;
Δυστυχώς, δεν μπορούμε να φυλάξουμε τσάντες και ρούχα. Φροντίστε να έχετε μαζί σας κάποιον που να μπορεί να κρατήσει τα πράγματά σας·αλλιώς, αφήστε τα στο όχημά σας.
Μπορούν οι φίλοι μας να μας συναντήσουν στο τέρμα του μαραθωνίου;
Ναι. Μπορούν να σας περιμένουν στο Canal εντός του ΚΠΙΣΝ, όπου είναι το σημείο τερματισμού μας. Φέτος θα υπάρχει και Open Agora όπου θα μπορείτε να στηρίξετε φιλοζωικές ομάδες και να μάθετε περισσότερα για τα έργα τους.
Θα υπάρχει κάτι για φαγητό;
Όλοι οι συμμετέχοντες στον αγώνα, θα λάβουν μετά τον τερματισμό τους φαγητό και νερό. Θα έχουμε επίσης και κάτι ιδιαίτερο για όσους τερματίσουν!
Θα υπάρχει φωτογράφος;
Ναι, η εκδήλωση θα καλυφθεί φωτογραφικά και με βίντεο. Στόχος μας είναι να ευαισθητοποιήσουμε τον κόσμο απέναντι στα αδέσποτα ζώα, και οι φωτογραφίες θα βοηθήσουν πολύ σε αυτό. Για το λόγο αυτό με τη συμμετοχή σας στον αγώνα συναινείτε στη λήψη οπτικού υλικού (φωτογραφία και βίντεο) στο οποίο θα απεικονίζεστε.

The Penny Marathon Athens will take place on Sunday 4 October 2026 at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC).
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PENNY MARATHON 2026, ATHENS, GREECE
What is the aim of the Penny Marathon?
This event is organised and supported by volunteers with the aim of raising public awareness of the plight of stray and unwanted animals (specifically companion animals, such as cats and dogs) in Greece, whilst recognising and supporting the work of the hundreds of volunteers who strive to ensure the welfare of animals in our country.
The Penny Marathon is a FREE event held on the same day in cities around the world.

When will the Penny Marathon take place?
In 2026, the Penny Marathon will take place on Sunday 4 October 2026.
How much does it cost to register?
We are delighted to announce that this year we will once again be partnering with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC), and the walk will take place at the SNFCC, located at 364 Syggrou Avenue, Kallithea.
Registration is free.
What you can do is make a donation here or bring along a donation of dog or cat food.
Where will it take place?
At the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC). The start and finish will be at the Canal café-restaurant on the north bank of the Canal.

There are two ways to take part. Please read the instructions below.
There will be flags and volunteers inside the SNFCC to indicate the route.
All participants will receive a wristband at the starting point, which they can use to collect snacks provided during the race (such as water, bananas, etc.). Every four-legged participant will receive a Penny Marathon bandana.
1. You can take part in the 10 km event by running, walking or cycling*.
Meeting time: 7.30 am
Start time: 08.30 am SHARP
The meeting and starting point for the 10 km run, walk or cycle is the Canal at the SNFCC.
*Cyclists will need to leave their bikes in a secure location if they wish to take part in the canal circuit, as cycling is prohibited around the Canal.
2. You can run or walk one (1) kilometre. And with your dog!
The meeting and starting point for the one (1) km run/walk with your dog is the SNFCC Canal!
Meeting time: 08:30 am
Start time: 09:30 am SHARP
Afterwards, once any other dog owners wishing to take part have joined us (dogs must always be kept on a lead), we will complete one (1) lap, one kilometre in length, around the Canal and finish together at the starting point, which is also the finish line!
A light meal will be waiting for you at the finish line.
As there may be slight delays to the times mentioned above, we kindly ask for your patience and flexibility, bearing in mind that we are all running for a good cause
What will the route be?
The route for the 10 km run consists of one (1) lap around the canal, four (4) laps around the SNFCC on the cycle path, and one 1-kilometre lap around the canal.
I’d like to take part in the 10 km race. Can I bring my dog along?
You can bring your dog provided there is someone to keep it on a lead throughout the 9 km route.
I’m not very fast – can I still take part?
Of course! Our event is a non-competitive celebration. You can walk the route without running. The aim is to complete the route together as a group! The maximum time allowed to complete the race is 2 hours.
There is also a 1-kilometre route, ideal for families and those who prefer to cover a shorter distance with their dog.
Do I need to register, or can I just turn up at the start line?
Yes, registration is compulsory to ensure the event is well organised.

Is this an official race?
No, it isn’t. There is no registration fee. Your time will not be recorded and you will not be given a race number. However, please follow the organisers’ instructions carefully to ensure the race runs smoothly.
Will water and refreshments be provided?
Yes, water for everyone and bananas for the runners. If you have any special requirements (e.g. energy gels), you’ll need to bring them yourself.
What else do I need to bring with me?
We’ll all be celebrating together at the finish line, so you might need a bit of money to buy something. If you’d like to bring a change of clothes, a volunteer guide might be able to carry them for you. Cyclists must carry basic equipment for changing an inner tube in case of a puncture.
++We also recommend bringing a hydration pack or bottle belt to carry your own water and reduce the use of plastic bottles and single-use packaging. This reduces waste and helps minimise our environmental impact.++
Will there be storage space for clothes?
Unfortunately, we cannot store bags or clothes. Please make sure you have someone with you who can look after your belongings; otherwise, leave them in your car.
Can our friends meet us at the finish line?
Yes. They can wait for you at the Canal within the SNFCC, where our finish line is.
This year there will also be an Open Agora (rescue group market) where you can support animal welfare groups and find out more about their work.
Will there be anything to eat?
All participants in the race will receive food and water after crossing the finish line. We’ll also have something special for those who finish!
Will there be a photographer?
Yes, the event will be covered by photographers and videographers. Our aim is to raise public awareness of stray animals, and the photographs will be a great help in this. For this reason, by taking part in the race, you consent to the capture of visual material (photographs and video) in which you will appear.
